Desert Explorer 6s day WESTERN AUSTRALIA 31 Trek Code: PA Perth to Alice Springs NORTHERN TERRITORY 4WD Adventure Camping Tour Alice Springs Uluru SOUTH AUSTRALIA Warburton Kalgoorlie Perth Southern Ocean ITINERARY Departs our Perth meeting point at 07.20 hrs. 1. Goldfields BC 2. Great Victoria Desert BC 3. Great Victoria Desert BC 4. Uluru/Ayers Rock 5. Kings Station 6. Alice Springs Discover the real outback as we cross the Western deserts on our 6 day 4WD adventure camping trek to the Red Centre. Our adventure begins with an early start from Perth, through the Jarrah forests of the Darling Ranges, following the goldfields water pipeline on to rolling farmland and sleepy country towns. Gold fever takes hold as we head for the historic goldmining areas of Southern Cross, Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie, visiting the `Super Pit' Gold mine and heading north before settling in for your first nights bushcamping experience. The desert beckons on your second day on the road as we head for the Red Centre, along the Great Central Road, past parched lakes and Aboriginal watering holes and art sites, with the unique Australian wildlife including wild camels making an appearance along the way. Far from civilization the brilliant night sky will take your breath away. A day in the Great Victoria Desert will let you fully appreciate the vastness of Australia's virtually uninhabited centre with Tjukayirla regarded as one of the most remote roadhouses in Australia and we pause for a break at the isolated Aboriginal Community of Warburton. Further down the road The Rawlinson Ranges appear purple/blue off in the distance, just one of many fascinating sights during this day on the road. Sunrise over a truly unique and beautiful setting will make for a memorable morning and the day just gets better with numerous river crossings and the majestic Olgas keeping you wide eyed Circling Uluru (Ayers Rock) makes for a challenging morning but you'll be richly rewarded with fantastic views and a great insight into the Aboriginal Culture for whom the rock is sacred. A air-conditioned coach is a welcome relief as we head to Kings Creek Station, indulging in anything from riding a camel to a quad bike. After our final night's camp together we head to Alice Springs, via Kings Canyon and our last big adventure. Take a few days in Alice to relax and enjoy your adventure to the Red Centre. as we travel on to Ayers rock where we watch the setting sun change the colour of the world's most famous rock.
