Alice Springs Travel the rugged South Coast and deep into Australia's red desert on a journey of spectacular natural contrasts. From Perth to Pemberton, we visit the Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury on our way south where you'll get up close and personal with our underwater friends. Explore the Ngilgi Cave, before topping off the day with a glass of wine in the famous Margaret River region on our way to Pemberton. The day of the big trees begins with a test of courage with an awesome 60 metre climb to the top of the Bicentennial Tree, before exploring the Valley of the Giants and a tree top walk through an ancient forest canopy 40 metres above the ground. The afternoon lets us explore the south coast, swim in the amazing Green Pool, view Elephant Rocks and check out some of the stunning natural coastal phenomena, the Blow Holes, The Gap, and the Natural Bridge. Final destination Albany, after a long and satisfying long day. Lift the heart rate with a climb to the top of Castle Rock before heading on to Esperance where you'll enjoy the pristine beaches of Cape Le Grande National Park and the rugged scenery of the Great Ocean Road. A last night is spent relaxing by the sea before our big push inland. An early start sees us head for the goldfields town of Kalgoorlie with lunch overlooking the `Superpit' followed by a lesson in gold panning. Jumping aboard our 4WD safari vehicle we head north to set up our first bush camp on the edge of the Great Victoria Desert, a chance to contemplate what awaits you over the horizon. You'll really begin to appreciate the `real' Australia as we travel through a desert dotted with remote Aboriginal communities with wild camels at home in the harsh environment. Crossing the border we come across the magnificent Olga's and walk into Kata Tjuta, a truly memorable experience, topped only by the setting sun over Ayers Rock in the evening. In the cool of the next morning we explore the amazing artwork and culture around the base of Ayers Rock before one last night at Kings Creek Station and on to Kings Canyon and the last leg of our journey to Alice Springs.
